Hello, Bases & Flyers!

Still in Laos, currently based in a charming colonial town where the roads are dusty and every sunset looks like a burning red marble dropping behind mountain silhouettes. Sometimes I wonder if I’ve wandered into a Nat Geo documentary.

So this is your March All Events Edition, everything happening worldwide over the next two months sorted by continent.

So expect in today’s issue:

  • ✈️ Plan Ahead: March - April all events by region

  • 🌍 Beyond Acro: Cultural Festivals to Catch in April

  • 🧳 My Favorite Travel Tools

🌍 BEYOND ACRO: Cultural Festivals to Catch in April

(If you’re hopping time zones this month, here are some cultural events that are worth planning around)

Semana Santa | Antigua, Guatemala | March 29 – April 5
Holy Week in Antigua means elaborate religious processions moving slowly through the streets over intricate carpets made of colored sawdust, flowers, and pine needles. Entire neighborhoods spend hours building these designs only for them to be walked over.

Koningsdag (King’s Day) | Netherlands | April 27
The Netherlands celebrates the King’s birthday by turning entirely orange. Cities shut down to traffic and everyone pours into the streets. Boats pack the canals for live music, dancing, beer at 10am, and one massive nationwide yard sale.

Walpurgis Night (Valborg) | Sweden & Finland | April 30
Bonfires mark the arrival of spring as choirs sing traditional songs and students wear white graduation caps. Town squares fill up as winter officially gets burned away. It’s part pagan ritual, part university party to symbolize “we survived the dark months.”
