Hello, Bases & Flyers!

Happy St. Patty’s Day ☘️

Just landed in Da Nang in Vietnam, and it’s so good seeing so many familiar faces again, eat good food, and drink way too many salt coffees.

The Southeast Asia acro circuit really is a niche within a niche, but the part that never gets old is landing in a brand new city and being able to settle in with just a few texts among old and new friends.

I’m constantly reminded how connected this community is, and I appreciate all you!

This week’s March edition is all about festivals — what’s happening now and what’s coming up next through July.

A very bendy move, AnkleDangle @hakemmm123 taught me

🌍 BEYOND ACRO: Cultural Festivals to Catch in April

(If you’re hopping time zones this month, here are some cultural events that are worth planning around)

Bisket Jatra | Bhaktapur, Nepal | April 10–18
Massive wooden chariots get pulled through tight city streets by competing teams in a full-on tug-of-war. Ropes snap, crowds surge, and it gets chaotic fast. It’s one of Nepal’s most intense New Year celebrations.

Takayama Spring Festival | Takayama, Japan | April 14–15
Highly detailed wooden floats move through the old town, some with mechanical puppets performing during the day. At night, the floats are lit with lanterns and pulled through the streets.

Sechseläuten | Zurich, Switzerland | April 20, 2026
A giant snowman effigy (the Böögg) gets burned in the city square to predict how good the summer will be. The faster its head explodes, the better the weather.

🧳 TRAVEL ESSENTIALS — What I Actually Use

I get asked a lot what I pack, book, and use on the road. Here’s the shortlist all tested over years going around the globe.

✈️ Want help planning a bigger trip?
I also offer custom itinerary planning, if you’re planning something epic, but don’t want the logistical overwhelm.

Next week: Related Fests where acro spills into circus, flow, dance, and movement culture.

Until then, fly elegantly and land somewhere gracefully (mostly) gracefully.
